The Process
Step 1: Inspiration
A lot of times people know that they want to make a change to their home, but they’re unsure of where to start. Well, a picture truly is worth a thousand words. We recommend people start by finding images of similar projects/spaces that they like. Pinterest, Facebook, & Instagram (as well as our own photo gallery!) are all great places to look for inspiration that can help with your new project.
Step 2: Reach out
Once you have an idea, or even if you know you want a change but have no idea what it should be, reach out to us.
Step 3: Meet and visualize the project
We can meet you at your property and go over in person ideas about your project. We’ll talk about bringing your vision to life, cost and general timing.
Step 4: Estimate
Once we have agreed on the scope of the project, we will submit an estimate for review.
Step 5: Planning and permits
Once we’ve all agreed on the scope of work, timeline, and cost, you may need plans & permits. If that’s the case we can take care of that for you.
Step 6: Work begins
As soon as we have our plans and permits (if necessary), we will get started right away.
Our clients say it best…
“Thank You to Sean Sedgwick for an outstanding job on our backyard patio space. This back corner of our yard was undeveloped and unused, until now. We now have a great sun shade and outdoor lighting (including extra outlets for our portable speakers and whatever we want to plug in); all covering a new seating area and fire pit. We love the transformation. Thank you Calafata Construction and Electric!”

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do I need a permit?
A: It all depends on the type of project(s) and what you’re doing. Most of the time, the answer is yes.
Q: How long does it take to get a permit?
A: Every city/jurisdiction is different. Typically the timeline is anywhere from 7-21 business days, although some permits may be submitted and released in the same day via online.
Q: Is there a cost to meet with you?
A: No. There are no costs to discuss your project. Further more, there are no costs to you until we’ve all agreed on a scope of work, timeline, and price.
Q: What if I change my mind part way through my project?
A: Not a problem at all! We get it, people change their mind, the most important thing is that at the end of the project you’re happy with what you got. If you change your mind we’ll go over the changes together, and if needed adjust the price accordingly.
